a ballad to and from salvador dalí

always dreamt of being more porous
the radio aches a docile tune
golden prayers, sung in chorus
how the night fell in love with the moon

triumvirate of holy things
a cosmonaut sailed in a starless “sea”
mother married two paper kings
he opened a door with the skeleton key

one king told me of buried saints
he peeked at the forbidden kiss
outré canvases my hand paints
selene with nyx in pure bliss

the second gave me melted clocks
         it was so precious—otherworldly—
blindfolded, memory persists.
that he remained, eternal in death.
