With my forefinger and thumb
Midnight and noon are squeezed together
Forced to brush cheeks
With one meeting of the palms
Farewell becomes hello

Lies by omission
Are cigarette butts to the heart
A palm on the forehead
Gorging shadows are stilled

Longing for armored trees
clad in frost
crowns of rime
Mirror palms skate off shoulders
I turn
