The world calls us scoundrels;
lowest of lowlifes.
…I guess they’re right.
Followed a madman
and did atrocities with pride.
…I don’t mind.

This wall separates us
by over 87 miles,
…The cold makes it hurt to smile.
It is our punishment,
But we could not say good-bye.
…I don’t know why.

It’s Einsamkeit*
Einsamkeit
Einsamkeit

I want to find you.

The snow bites at my skin;
Winter’s unforgiving in Berlin.
They say our lands are bloody,
but their hands are also dirty.

It’s Einsamkeit
Einsamkeit
Einsamkeit

My heart is breaking, I feel caged inside.
I’m waiting for 1989, longing for you at my side.

The winds howl in anguish.
Our cries cannot be distinguished.
The tears rolling down our faces.
We have fallen into deep disgrace.

We’ll be strong.
Through Einsamkeit

*Einsamkeit: German for “loneliness”
